When it comes to managing remote employees, having the right tools can make a difference in ensuring smooth communication, seamless collaboration and increased productivity for both you and your remote team.
At All Talentz as our remote workforce continues to grow, we’ve had the opportunity to explore and learn about some tools that have truly transformed our way of working.
With that in mind we wanted to share our picks for managing remote employees. These are the tools that have enabled our teams to stay connected, engaged and focused on achieving their goals while working remotely.
1. Communication tools:
In any organization effective communication plays a role. Whether it’s between you and your remote workers or among team members themselves, utilizing these communication tools allows everyone to come together and collaborate efficiently.
a) Microsoft Teams: At All Talentz we rely majorly on Microsoft Teams for communication. It’s like a central hub where we can chat, share files, and work together in real-time. We have different channels for each project, and we can easily access all our Microsoft 365 apps from there too. It helps us stay connected and organized.
b) Slack: Slack is widely recognized as one of the communication channels used by managers and their remote teams. It serves as a real time messaging platform that facilitates team communication through channels, direct messaging, and file sharing. With Slack keeping everyone connected and well informed, your team members can easily exchange ideas, and stay up to date on project developments.
c) Zoom: There are several reasons why we love Zoom. For one, it takes video conferencing to another level with its high-definition video quality and reliable audio. You can easily join a meeting, share your screen with your colleagues, send messages in the chat, and the ability to add annotations makes Zoom one of the best choices for businesses with remote teams.
2. Project Management Tools:
Keeping track of projects, deadlines, and tasks assigned to your remote employees is crucial for the success of your organization.
a) Click-up: Click-up is our go-to project management platform. With its spaces, folders, and tasks, Click-up keeps us organized. With Click-up you can easily collaborate on tasks, assign deadlines, and track progress easily.
b) Trello: We love Trello for its visual approach to project management. The boards, lists, and cards keep everything organized.
c) Asana: Asana also enables you to plan, track, and manage projects. Its intuitive interface streamlines task delegation, project timelines, and progress monitoring. With its collaboration and automation features, you can streamline your workflows and monitor your team and projects in real-time.
3. Time Tracking Tools
Maintaining productivity and ensuring efficient time management are essential for remote teams like ours. That is why we’ve implemented some of these time tracking tools that help us stay on top of our work hours and optimize productivity.
a) Toggl: We love using Toggl for its user-friendly interface, which allows us to effortlessly track our work hours across various projects and tasks. It’s an excellent tool for identifying time-consuming activities and improving our time allocation for better productivity.
b) Clockify: Another fantastic time tracking tool is Clockify. It provides detailed reports on how employees spend their time, helping them understand their work patterns, identify bottlenecks, and improve their time management skills.
4. File Sharing and Collaboration Tools:
Smooth collaboration on documents and files is vital for remote teams. To streamline document management, you can make use of these file sharing and collaboration tools:
a) Microsoft 365: Like Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 is an all-in-one suite of productivity tools we cannot do without. It includes OneDrive, Word, Excel, Forms, and PowerPoint. We love using it for secure file sharing and seamless collaboration among our team members.
These tools will make working remotely easier and more productive for you and your remote team.
